I have never been afraid of bold color and over the years I have painted rooms in bright yellows, oranges, chartreuse, reds and aubergines, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine myself painting anything in a vibrant blue!
I kept looking at the living-room with the realization that the many beautiful things in the room were just not being high-lighted by the existing white color. The lovely furniture, hand made rugs, original artwork and the wooden vaulted ceiling and the floors, just weren’t being seen. The room needed a WOW factor…
After coming to the realization that blue was the perfect color to showcase everything, choosing the right blue was my next task. It was so unlike anything I had ever done before. One day I walked past a living-room chair and my Mexican shawl was draped over the back of it. I realized that the blue of the shawl was the very color that I needed! I headed over to Para Paints at Inspired Interiors, locally in Whitehorse, where they custom mixed the exact paint color to match.
We call it “Mexican Shawl”. Watching it go on the walls was extremely exciting! It truly was a Walk On The Wild Side for me, but I love it.
