You may have noticed that we haven’t posted a new blog entry for some time. We have just returned from vacation and I thought you may be interested to see some of our experiences in France.
Our first stop was a wedding in France …. one of our cousins. I had the honour of singing Shubert’s Ave Maria for that occasion, with a pipe organ, in a very ancient stone church. I did not require a microphone …. the acoustics were amazing!
We spent four wonderful days with our French family and then we traveled to the south of France where we had rented a house with friends from Canada. Our time there was amazing …. the touring was superlative, and the food has spoiled me for life. I have never eaten so well!!
I hope you enjoy the visual tour to follow:
We attended a French Country Fair in this town square.
There was so much good food to be had at the market.
We also bought sausages from the French market. (The sign “Goutez Moi” translates to “Taste Me” in English.
Colourful baskets we found at the market.
We also bought “Foie Gras”. This translates to “Fat Liver”.
Pate de Foie Gras is traditionally made from goose or duck livers.
This is a typical French Country home.
While in France we went out for many lunches and dinners.
This is the home we stayed at in the South of France.
As you can see we had a wonderful time visiting friends and family in France.
