The last stop of our trip was in Panama for two weeks. What a beautiful country!!
It is extremely lush and green right now, and it is very diverse. I especially like the high country. Now that the Panama Canal is operated by Panamanians..(it was under the purveyance of the US for 100 years..they for all intents and purposed built it) … the country is booming. The skyline in Panama City was quite the eye opener.
Panama is in the midst of an infrastructure boom, powered by the $6 billion modernization and expansion of the Panama Canal. They need trained people and the economy grew 10.6% in 2011; a rate the outpaced China.
After six weeks of holiday, we were ready to come home. We missed our children, our grand-children, our horses, dogs, and our chickens … not to mention our friends and our community.
