Yukon is a land of extremes. Dark and cold in the Winter, and constant daylight and warmth in the Summer….however…we have two seasons besides Spring and Fall….these are “non-seasons”, I call them Sprinter and Finter. Finter is not fall and it is not winter. Sprinter is not spring and it is not winter. Both of these seasons are “dead” seasons….no fall color, and no snow or light on the land…conversely…no spring greenery and weak beginnings of the dramatic burst of light that comes upon the land with the arrival of spring and summer. Both of these seasons are ideal for renovations.
This year, we renovated The Blue Room during the Sprinter season. We have had comments the room was small, and so we made it larger by removing the clothes closet and putting up wall hangers, and yes indeed! It has really added space. Of course when you embark upon a simple project that says, ”Let’s take out the clothes closet”, it embraces everything! New ceiling, new floor, new walls, and new paint job…. we’re happy and ready to go for the busy summer season, with our newly renovated Blue Room!
A project like this takes lots of help. Here are some images of the work in progress. Lots of painting completed. New fresh coat on the ceiling and walls.
We also installed new flooring.
What a beautiful floor! We are so happy with the results.
This twin room is great for two friends traveling together or for parent and child. Hope to see you at Hidden Valley Bed & Breakfast soon.
